Special Timber Windows Description At Broxwood we pride ourselves in being able to provide a full range of special windows to fit nearly every situation. Some of these windows will be made from solid timber while others will be made from laminated sections specially made up to the radius or shape required. Windows can be made as either fixed or opening where possible. View Special Windows Gallery Materials Manufactured from preservative treated laminated red pine. Unless specifically requested all laminated pine will also be finger jointed to reduce the incidence of knots and all timber used in manufacture will not exceed 12% moisture content. Available also in hardwoods including laminated larch, mahogany and oak. Finishes & Colours All products are offered with a factory finish - either stain or paint finish to choice. Option to have different colour inside and outside. A full range of RAL colours is available with the paint finishes. Factory finish guarantees excellent protection and penetration into end grains. Factory finish assures better bonding between wood and stain/paint research shows bonding is up to 30% better being carried out in controlled environment. Aluminium cladding is available powder coated in white as standard. A full range of RAL colours is also available.
Glazing Standard glazing means double glazed units with low-energy glass and a u-value of 1.4. Alternative glazing options are available to give increased insulation, high security, solar control or sound insulation. Toughened glazing will be fitted as specified to comply with all Building Regulations. Please refer to our Specification section for further information.
