Materials

Broxwood windows are predominantly supplied with both the sash and frame manufactured from selected Nordic softwood that has been kiln-dried prior to lamination.

Alternatively Broxwood is able to offer windows manufactured from a range of other timber types including Siberian Larch, Oak Teak and Mahogany either laminated or from the solid timber.

Nothing surpasses the use of laminated wood in windows: Wood has demonstrated its quality as a window material for centuries in harsh climates. The superb insulation qualities of wood are due to abundant, minute air pores in wood. Climate changes do not affect the structural integrity of laminated timber.

Wood is a product of nature, a renewable resource, rendered and processed in an environmentally friendly way. Forests are now managed to ensure that these valuable resources are maintained. What this means is that for every tree that is felled, another two are planted. In fact, there is twice as much wood in the Nordic forests today as existed 100 years ago. This method of ensuring that timber resources are maintained provides timber sustainability and the only construction material in the world that is renewable.
