External Doors 

Description

External doors and sidescreens supplied by Broxwood are made by one of Norway’s leading door and window manufacturers. Availability of external doors means clients can source all their requirements for external joinery (i.e. windows and doors) from the same source. All Broxwood doors are bespoke and therefore manufactured to each customer specification and requirements. Sidescreens to match all doors are available and, where possible, can be manufactured as one unit (door and sidelight) if specified.

The doors are all manufactured to the highest possible standards and offer many advantages not least amongst these being its high standard of insulation and in some cases the doors are profiled on the inside face as well as externally.

Materials

Doors and frames are manufactured from treated, laminated red and finger jointed pine. Door frames are 92mm wide.

Finishes & Colours

• All doors/screens are offered with a factory finish.
• Finish can be either stain or paint finish to choice. A full range of RAL colours is available with the paint finishes.
• Option available for different colour inside and out.
• Factory finish guarantees excellent protection and penetration into end grains. Factory finish assures better bonding between wood and stain/paint research shows bonding is up to 30% better being carried out in controlled environment.

Insulation Standards and Glazing

Unglazed doors without letter plates can be made with u-value as low as 0.8. Where glazing is fitted to doors or sidescreens the standard will be a double glazed sealed glass unit using toughened/laminated glass inside and out and with low-energy glass. The u-value for the door with glazing is 1.4.

Alternative glazing options are available to give increased insulation, high security, solar control or sound insulation.

Options

A number of options are available including modular sidelights manufactured to match the doors.

• Clip-on, applied or solid glazing bars.
• Doors are available as either inward or outward opening.
• Special doors available on request.
• Single and 3-point locking systems.

Inward opening doors come with three point espagnolette locking system. Door fixings are adjustable on all doors

Handles

Handles are available in satin anodized aluminium.

• Up to 10 year guarantee subject to windows being maintained in accordance with manufacturers warranty and recommendations.

• Typical delivery time is 5 to 6 weeks from confirmation of order.

Environmental Policy

• All timber used in the construction process comes from sustainable, well-managed forests.
• Products made from timber are 100% recyclable.
• The total amount of energy used in the manufacture is significantly less than the energy used to manufacture a uPVC door of similar size.
• Manufacturing processes designed to ensure no surplus materials leave the factory.
• Materials used to protect products during transit are recyclable wherever possible.
