Broxwood-Villavent Show Tours Shetland and Orkney

Bespoke timber windows and doors supplier, Broxwood, will tour the Shetland and Orkney islands during the first week of June 2009 to offer information and advice to anyone planning to undertake a renovation or new build project and to give islanders the opportunity to review the latest products at first hand.

An independent Scottish company working with various Norwegian window and door manufacturers, Broxwood has joined forces with Villavent, the Scandinavian whole house heat recovery ventilation supplier for a unique series of shows including those taking place at:

• Monday, 1 June 2009, 11am – 8pm                The Shetland Hotel, Lerwick
• Tuesday, 2 June 2009, 9am – 6pm                 The Shetland Hotel, Lerwick
• Wednesday, 3 June 2009, 9am – 3pm           The Shetland Hotel, Lerwick

• Friday, 5 June 2009, 9am – 5pm                    The Orkney Hotel, Kirkwall

With rising energy costs and a growing desire for sustainable living, many people are turning to proven Scandinavian technologies for wiser, healthier lifestyles. As a company, Broxwood has seen an increase in the level of interest in its range of energy-efficient range of timber and
alu-clad windows and doors.

Broxwood’s Managing Director, Olav Skretteberg said: “We are delighted to be visiting Shetland and Orkney to deliver a series of informative seminars together with our co-hosts Villavent. We will demonstrate our range of energy efficient products and will be on hand to answer any queries. We supply products which have been specifically developed for the extreme climatic conditions on the west coast of Norway so they are a perfect fit for Shetland and Orkney. They have been designed to reduce heat loss and capitalise on solar gain whilst offering a tough, low maintenance construction option. Indeed our new alu-clad range now offers a highly durably and virtually maintenance free exterior solution for those people still looking for the warmth and natural appeal of wood indoors.”

Mr Skretteberg continued: “We are frequently asked for advice about Passive House, the voluntary building standard which is popular in other parts of Europe. Unsurprising when you hear that Passive House standards vastly exceed current building regulations and can reduce the need for heating by as much as 90%! In light of increasing public interest in reducing energy usage, and with our respective expertise and highly compatible products, Broxwood and Villavent hope to offer the benefit of our insight and experience.”

During their visit, Broxwood will also be hosting a RIBA Core Curriculum CPD seminar for architects and construction professionals on the following dates:

• Tuesday, 2 June 2009, 10am – 12noon        The Shetland Hotel, Lerwick
• Friday, 5 June 2009, 10am – 12 noon          The Orkney Hotel, Kirkwall
